Interventions

Within the school, your child may be invited to take part in a range of interventions to support literacy, numeracy or social/emotional skills. When your child is invited to take part, you will always be asked for your consent and given information or invited to contact the school to discuss the intervention. Our interventions are delivered by highly trained and experienced teaching assistants within the school or by qualified and DBS checked external organisations.

 

Foundation Phase:

  • Rapid Phonics – designed to help children get a better grasp of the building blocks of words
  • Language Link – an intervention to assess and provide programmes to develop language development
  • Speech Link – used to identify and provide programmes to assist with correct speech production
  • Butterfly Buddies – a group intervention designed to support pupils well-being and emotional resilience
  • ELSA – an individual programme using the interests of the child to help support pupils’ emotional and social skills
  • Poppat – a scheme used to support pupils recognition of sounds and sound production
  • Precision Writing – designed to support pupils literacy skills and develop high frequency word awareness
  • School Based Counsellor – available from Reception to Year 6, our school based counsellor can help pupils talk through and come to terms with any difficulties they may be experiencing.

 

Key Stage Two:

  • Rapid Phonics – designed to help children get a better grasp of the building blocks of words
  • Junior Language Link – an intervention to assess and provide programmes to develop language development in older children
  • Speech Link – used to identify and provide programmes to assist with correct speech production which builds on the Foundation Phase intervention
  • Nurture – a group intervention designed to support pupils well-being and emotional resilience
  • Extra Forest Schools – an outdoor and adventurous provision which helps pupils to gain confidence and share their strengths with pupils
  • Precision Writing – designed to support pupils literacy skills and develop high frequency word awareness
  • Talkabout – a group intervention designed to encourage pupils to develop their oracy skills and their confidence when speaking.
  • ELSA – an individual programme using the interests of the child to help support pupils’ emotional and social skills
  • Rapid Reading – a structured reading programme which builds on pupils’ reading and understanding skills
  • Rapid Maths – a group based intervention which develops pupils’ number skills
  • School Based Counsellor – available from Reception to Year 6, our school based counsellor can help pupils talk through and come to terms with any difficulties they may be experiencing.
